My name is Gen Aris, and this journal will chronicle the creation of a 10-week workshop project titled "Conceptual Self-Portrait." The world-wide web is a medium of personality. While traditional forms of media have stars, adored by millions, the web turns that notion around: millions become the stars of their own pages. The potential for a compelling web experience exists in the life and history of each of us, but seldom is realized.
